Assessing the risk potential of Abandoned Mines in the Colorado Mineral Belt, utilizing Hazard ratings to decide the draining mines posing the greatest public health risk to nearby communities. The selected sites are recommended for Super Fund status. 

Unusually high river conductivity, paired with abnormally high pH levels were also advising factors in recommending government attention, as they are indicative of greater potential environmental and health hazard.
