Point data of boring locations and depths along the Rocky Flats Alluvium.
The Rocky Flats alluvial fan is a large early Pleistocene gravel deposit at the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon along the eastern flank of the Colorado Front Range in Jefferson and Boulder Counties, Colorado.
Various sources provided data on the bedrock beneath the Rocky Flats alluvial fan, including information from drill holes, geophysical measurements, and mapped lithologic contacts between the alluvium and bedrock. The objective of this report is to consolidate this data into a digital dataset that indicates the elevation of the bedrock surface beneath the Rocky Flats alluvium. Due to the challenge of precisely geolocating some of the source data points, the primary application of the dataset should be for analyzing the general configuration of the bedrock surface, rather than conducting thorough site investigations.
Paleogeography comparing the size and presence of Rocky Flats Alluvium in the Pleistocene and present.
